释义	马斯顿荒原之战英国资产阶级革命过程中的一次重要战役。1644年7月，王军将领鲁贝特在英格兰北部约克郡解围之后，紧追国会军至马斯顿荒原。克伦威尔率国会军骑兵队——“铁骑军”击溃鲁贝特军的左翼，并猛攻王军中路而获胜。王军损失3000～4000人，国会军由此转败为胜。克伦威尔也从此声誉大振。
